This is especially beneficial when making stone or concrete effect furniture which would be extremely heavy if made using solid stone, this gives a authentic feel and look at a fraction of the weight. They are extremely tactile and suprisingly durable.
Pictures shows a custom plinth finished in Travertino, with subtle textured veins running through the piece and finished with a natural bees wax.
